GETTING THIS A LOT

I use AI every day. Claude and Cursor in the editor, ChatGPT for quick research. Not hiding it.

What AI doesn't know: your bookkeeper's setup, or that the card reader sits on the same surge strip as the freezer that kicks every time the front door opens. It also doesn't drive to your shop on a Tuesday.

That's the part you're paying for. AI is a tool on my bench. I'm the person who picks it up and knows when to put it down.

ONE PERSON · KODIAK BASED

I'm Ashmar. I live in Kodiak and I run Northline out of here. Before this I worked a lot of small-business jobs around the island: front desk at a dental office, back-office for an e-commerce shop, warehouse and restaurant shifts, night security at Providence Kodiak. At a couple of those jobs I was also the one quietly running the database and the website on the side.

What I'm good at is the unglamorous middle of a small business. The customer list nobody's touched since 2019. The five subscriptions doing one job. I like the moment something that used to eat a Tuesday afternoon stops eating it. I'm also the person who actually picks up the phone and follows through, which turns out to be half the job.

(Also runs Lighthouse Cleaning and is building Dory, a local delivery app, under the same umbrella.)

How much does a website actually cost?

Usually $800 to $1,800 flat for a small local site. Where you land in that range depends on page count and whether you need booking or payments wired in. You get the exact figure in writing before any work starts. No "we'll see how it goes" billing.

I don't really know what I need. Is that okay?

That's most folks. First call is free so we can figure it out before you commit. Sometimes the answer is "you don't need a new site, you need three settings changed." Either way you'll leave with a clearer picture.

Do you do retainers?

Yes, for ongoing care and regular tech help. Month-to-month and cancel anytime. No lock-in.

What if I just need one weird thing fixed?

Perfect. That's most of what I do. Email the weird thing, I'll quote it.

Do you only work with Kodiak businesses?

Mostly. Being able to drive to your office is part of the value. But I'll take remote work that fits, especially in other small Alaskan towns.
